Dorchester Literary Festival
We were thrilled to welcome two authors to school this week as part of the Dorchester Literary Festival.
His talk was full of personal anecdotes and had everyone laughing from the start. 13 very willing volunteers even managed to present a speed version of one of his novels. Luke Palmer spoke to the whole of Year 10 with a talk based on his book ‘Grow’; an exploration of grief and resilience, highlighting the threats of radicalisation amongst vulnerable teenagers. The two topics could not have been more different yet each was thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed by the pupils. Both authors spent time afterwards chatting to pupils and signing copies of their books.
