Transport

Information for students needing to order a bus pass.

Instead of applying through Dorset Council you must now buy a pass from the bus company directly on their website.   Tickets/passes are allocated using the surplus seat scheme which allows any student (age 4 to 19), who is not entitled to free school transport, to use seats on existing school transport vehicles (charges will apply). The bus companies cannot guarantee a seat and this will be even more pertinent during the current situation of self-distancing, so make sure you have alternative transport in place in case there are no seats available. The scheme does not apply to public service routes.  Please note that the UK Government has stated that it is mandatory for passengers to wear face coverings while travelling on public transport from 15 June unless you meet the exemption criteria set by the government.

PB1, PB2 and PB3 9 (routes from/to Swanage and Studland)

Passes for PB1-3 will soon be on sale on the Scholars Pass website here: https://passes.gosouthcoast.co.uk/.  Timetables and bus routes can also be found on this website.  In previous years, cash fares have also been available on these routes at £4 single and £6 return but, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this may not be a possibility this year and therefore we ask you to check directly with the bus company.

PB5, PB6, PB7, PB8 and PB9 (routes from/to Bovington, Wool, Lulworth & Morten, Broadmayne & Knitson areas)

Those wishing to travel on PB5-9 should contact their Customer Services team to join the waiting list, by calling 01202 338 420 or emailing: enquiries@damory.co.uk.  Timetables and bus routes can be found here: https://www.excelsior-coaches.com/schools-timetables.  Office opening hours are Monday to Friday 8am until 5:30pm

The X54 (route from/to Weymouth & Poole)

The X54 is a public bus and run by First Group.  You can buy passes and download timetables and route maps via their website, www.firstgroup.com (http://ow.ly/M0IL50AsYR8 for link to X54 timetable), or call 0345 646 0707 for more information.
