  • Super 7's Well Done!

    As part of our behaviour policy, in every lesson, each student is given a score.  Students receiving a 7 have exceeded expectations for the lesson. The following week, the names of the students will be compiled, and they will each receive 7 house points. Shortly after this, they will be presented with their Super 7 wristband which provides them with:

    1. Queue-jump for themselves and one friend for all break times and lunch times throughout the week.
    2. An invitation for a Friday hot chocolate with the Headteacher and House Leaders.

  • Year 7/8 Girls Victory to the Semi Finals

    The girls started the match with intensity, pressing high up the pitch and immediately taking control of possession. Their passing was crisp and purposeful, with the midfield dictating the tempo and spreading the play out wide to stretch the Ferndown Middle School defence.

    Coach Tarbs Multi Skills is BACK AT EASTER! 🐣 Purbeck Sports Centre

    After the huge success of the first one in the February Half Term, the Coach Tarbs team are back on Friday 11th April!

    6 hours of Multi Sports (9-3pm) embedding the TARBS ethos of: Teamwork, Attitude, Resilience, Basic skills and Smiles.

     We have even more expanded the age range and employed a new coach to cater for all children’s needs. We have had some amazing feedback from parents and are looking to add in numerous new sports and challenges! ️ 🏏 🏉 🏊 🎾 🥅 🏸 ️ 🥏 

    30 places available so please book early to avoid disappointment!

    £30 for the day. £25 if you refer someone else, book a sibling, or rebook from February half term.

  • Purbeck Science Fair 2025: A Resounding Success!

    The fair featured an impressive array of interactive activities and exhibits suitable for all ages. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with renowned organisations such as The Etches Collection, the Institute of Physics, Defence Battlelab, and the University of Southampton. Local partners, including the Dorset Wildlife Trust and the Urban Heaths Partnership, also contributed to the diverse range of exhibits.

    One of the highlights was the return of the 'Science Dome,' offering immersive experiences that captivated both children and adults. Additionally, The Purbeck School's own science staff and students conducted interactive demonstrations covering topics like chemical reactions, non-Newtonian fluids, genetic sweet creatures and bridge-making.

  • Today is World Book Day!

    Today is World Book Day. Here at The Purbeck School, it’s World Book Day every day with an active library and every tutor group reading for at least 15 minutes each day. But in addition, this week there is a variety of activities and competitions in the library, including a book title emoji treasure hunt, and ‘Batman vs the Bard’, a tricky quiz identifying which quotes are from Batman and which from Shakespeare. Every teacher and member of support staff has a poster on their door highlighting their current reading, initiating discussion around our reading choices.
