  • Massive Congratulations to our year 8/9 touch rugby teams

    Published 04/06/25

    Dear all,

Massive Congratulations to our year 8/9 touch rugby teams that competed at the T1 rugby tournament at Lytchett RFC this afternoon.

One of our teams won the competition which means they will progress to the national round later this Summer up in Worchester (TBC). We scored a grand total of 26 tries throughout the afternoon.

Purbeck beat Avonbourne in the final 10-5 on "Golden Try" in Extra Time, a Bertie Warren grubber and gather to win the final!

The best thing about the tournament was having two completely mixed ability and gender-based teams with students who attend rugby club frequently every Thursday after school.

Boy of the Tournament: Henry Wright - excellent link up player and control of the game

Girl of the Tournament: Hettie Poole - excellent running especially in the final to set up the phase before Bertie's winning try!

Team (with number of tries in brackets): Bertie Warren (6), Sam Munns (5), George Whittaker, Ryan Tizzard (1), Alfie Hunt, Tommy Barnes (1), Molly Murray, Hettie Poole (1), Rosabelle Williams-Hall, Sam Underhill, Alice De Wit, Toby Debenham, Oli Ellis (5), Kian Naga, Emyr Griffiths (1), Alfie Webb (4), Henry Wright (1), Mia Betts, Tess Street (1), Annabella Euripedes, Hannah Sharp
