Year 10 netball league

All the girls' hard work came to fruition last night, when the A-Team played superb netball throughout the four games they played. The defence was on fire and other teams found it hard to score goals past Olivia and Alice.
Alice troubled every goal attack by making superb interceptions and played an active part in bringing the ball out of defence, she received a player of the match. The shooters did not disappoint and were popping in goals for fun, especially Lucy from long range. Although the girls miss the height of injured Cerys in the circle, Ava, who had stepped up and played for the year above fitted into the team nicely, scoring some great goals. The centre court players linked both attacking defence beautifully with Leah and Immi putting in some beautiful feeds into the circle, and Trina made herself available for backline passes. The girls thoroughly deserve their wins, and although they had one defeat against Parkstone, it was a minimal defeat as normally this score goes into double figures. Huge congratulations.

The B team also played well, they are starting to gel as a team and score some goals, the main goal scorer last night was Amelie, and she received player of the match. The attack worked hard around her, Jess was feisty and got to any loose ball, Araya put some nice passes in to Amelie who scored, Helen did a great job at intercepting, and linking the centre court players, Abby got her centre passes out successfully, and Chloe and Sophie had good height in the circle, making it hard for the opposition shooters to get near the goal, Matilda also did some lovely passing, so all in all the girls are improving, and the results reflect this. Although they only won one out of three games, (the first game they have won) the amount of goals they conceded by has massively improved. Both teams never gave up and are a credit to themselves and the school.
