Superb GCSE results at The Purbeck School for the class of 2024

Students at The Purbeck School have posted some exceptional GCSE results.

Adam Darley, Headteacher commented, “These results are absolutely superb. Huge congratulations to all of the year 11 students. As a whole this year group has posted some of the best results that the school has ever seen. It is testament to the hard work of the students, staff, and parents that these results are so good. We are very proud of them all and it has been a pleasure to celebrate with them today. We look forward to seeing many of them return into the sixth form’.

Steve Clarke the Chair of Governors added his praise, "On behalf of the Governors may I add my congratulations to all the students on their GCSE results. The last few years have been affected by Covid and its aftermath and the students have shown great resilience. We welcome those who are staying on to study in our excellent sixth form and give our good wishes to those who are seeking opportunities elsewhere. The school has always been able to outperform the expected grades at GCSE and this year is no exception with the results being particularly good. The leadership and staff should be congratulated on their expertise and dedication in continuing to deliver high results for our young people.”

In all 22 students have received the coveted grade 9 result in one subject or more.

Special mention must go to Dean Caswell who gained 8 grades at grade 9, and Flo Whiting who gained 7 grades at grade 9, an absolutely incredible achievement. Other students with multiple grade 9s included: Henry Brown; Edward Hombersley; Daisy Pipe; Tamsin Lake; Fraser Retson; Jessica Lee; Carla White; Sophie Layer-Dobra; and Annabell Tubbs

Well done to everyone, good luck for the future, and keep in touch!
